Slow living

What is slow living?

Well, it is different to everyone. And it's a rising trend. But I don't believe it to be a trend, I believe it is one of the most important aspects of who I am and the way I live. I even walk slow (sorry).

Slow living is a lifestyle emphasizing slower approaches to aspects of everyday life. The concept of slow lifestyles started with the slow food movement, which emphasizes more traditional food production processes as a reaction to fast food emerging in Italy during the 1980s and 1990s. It is now intertwined with minimalism and "slow fashion" and the understanding that life is more important than trends and harmful living.

Living slowly provides an every day appreciation for the small and seemingly insignificant. Finding pleasure from the mundane and grounding your gratitude to who you are and who you're with, rather than what you have and don't have.

Taking time for a moment of meditation or thoughtful action of any kind can change the way you think and feel every day. Living consciously with gratitude.

When painting, I use vegan paint and try my best to never waste anything I have mixed on my palette, making use of it all.

This is a video I have created while painting, embracing my slow living and appreciation of the beauty in every day. Enjoy.
